TAM Settings
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:33:27 »

Was asked about skin colours on TS the other night.. thought i'd post a few screenies for anyone who didnt know what i was on about..

To open the tam menu, the default key is "home" if you downloaded tam from the server rather then installed it yourself, then this may not work, instead you need to open console (') <--key and type in "menu3spn" posted a screenshot so you can see..

screenshot below shows my settings.. disable own footsteps so i dont hear my own, others still will of course, i force models to gorge, this means i only ever see 1 character skin, less of a distraction, i switch colours now and then, example below shows pink colour, posted a shot in game to see what it looks like...

For the more advanced user, you may find that some colours work better then others depending on the map, adjusting the sliders all the time is anoying and slow to do, so i created a tutorial on TCP forum that shows you how to set up a bind to switch skin colours at the press of a button. so press a key and you have yellow and green skins, another key could give you black and pink etc etc.. here is the link.. http://www.tcpclan.net/phpforum/viewtopic.php?t=3835

hope thats helpfull.. (all this works in freon too btw, altho you will find you have to have 2 different setups, so if you change stuff for freon, you will need to do it again for tam)

left mouse button = fire

the other slightly less known thing about tam is the combos.. berserk and speed are both altered in tam/freon, speed lets you see invis (a little, small little yellow light on invis player) and berserk also works as an ammo regen :P you can also bind combos to keys usebooster will activate booster combo when you have 100 adren etc

instead you need to open console (') <--key and type in "menu3spn"

did type it :P you can also press tab for the quick console, this opens a green typing section in top left of screen, you will have to press delete a few times to remove the word "say" if you do it that way

you can also use the console command "set input home menu3spn"  this will bind the console command "menu3spn" to the home key, replace home for any key on the keyboard you want to use

iirc ownfootsteps is a little bugged, might have to restart ut for it to take effect, it will also only work when playing tam, not other gametypes

hehe, well if you can still hear your footsteps, the only thing left to try is go through your user.ini file and search for "bPlayOwnFootsteps" and make sure they all say false, will be about 5 or more in there
