Whiners united
« on: March 18, 2017, 00:42:45 »
Hey there guys!

I've actually never made a decent post on this forum, so let this be the first time.
Most of you guys might know me a bit since I play on your great freon server.
That being said, here is why I think I should make this post:

I'm mostly playing like 3 or 4 evenings a week on your server, not for that long, mostly just a few maps.
What I notice is a lot of complaining and whining about certain issues on there..
Now I'm not really that kind of guy to react on these things, just trying to be polite and respect the people who,
just like me, play the game for fun.

I respect the people who have a low level of play, are not skilled at all, but just enjoy shooting around.
However I have the decency to let people play their game, I think everyone should do so.
Maybe I'm misscalculating here, please do tell me if I'm wrong. But I'm also expecting some decency towards me (by the way this counts
for more experienced players). I make no diffirence between for example DanoDan or Dawkings, just 2 examples, but both players
who respect the serverrules.

What I'm asking here is to not be rude.
Tonight's session I've seen people complaining about some new guy who seems to not understand the game yet: let him be!
I'm watching people rage during the game and then starting to kill themself to show the others how "done" they
are with this game: just go spec, or leave...who's telling you to stay
And people telling me to personally "fuck off", when I'm asking to fix the teams cause of the shit above.

Just respect each other, and have fun fragging :)

Thanks for all other great gaming-sessions!

I wasn't there to witness the drama on that specific night but I suppose the sources of tension were the same as always;
-Either the teams were unbalanced and nobody did switch, probably because of people fearing to loose their beloved slot, in this case I personally think this could be solved by allowing uneven numbers of players in the teams, but I know some people do not agree with this.
-New/old players not assimilating to the "implicit codes" of freon; i.e. camping with goop, not thawing (enough), abusing of certain weapons ect.. In that case I can only agree with you when you say to let people do their thing, even if it might appears as an unsportsmanlike way to play..
Either way I'm not well placed to tell people to quit whining as I do it myself (fucking minigunners), but throwing salt on new players that are learning the mechanics or monopolizing a slot just to suicide and send passive-agressive message wont achieve anything..

Personally I dont really care if players do a bit of swapping at the start of the game as long as it does not turn into a pain in the ass!

After that live with the team you are in, I absolutely hate it when players start moving about later in the game. The game goes 8-3 and players start moving to prove what?

How good they are?

That having a man over unbalances the team?

That they are idiots?

Not every game has to end 10-9 and sometimes the challenge of stealing three or four rounds from a far more superior team is great fun anyway. When we sit in teamspeak we regularly set a score based on the teams and quite often we will say 10-4 and if I am on the weaker team I want 10-5 then some clever fucker swaps to prove nothing other than to unbalance the other way and make the map last for 5 more rounds or so.

Giving a player a hard time when they are learning isnt on I agree.

people should play and stfu    better to give the nabs some pointers regarding ress and thaw, rather than telling them they are useless.  i mean they probobly trying as hard as they can.  so pointers instead of making it even worse
